Fertilizers:what are they and how are they applied?
A fertilizer is any substance, simple or compound, or a mixture of both that contains essential nutrients for the development of plant organisms. They return nutrients to the soil that are extracted by plants, or that are lost through erosion processes.
The use of fertilizers has become very important given the high yields of crops obtained today. In the soil, plant organisms find all the nutrients necessary for their correct development; however, on many occasions the quantities are not sufficient. That is where the need to apply fertilizers is observed.
