The liquid Detector reagent allows a quick and easy detection of mastitis in cows through the California test. This KIT CMT Detector allows the detection of subclinical mastitis in livestock facilities and farms.
REACTION TECHNIQUE
- Deposit approximately 2 ml of suspect milk from each quarter into each of the paddle cups.
- Add 2 mL (minimum) of CMT DETECTOR Reagent to each cup.
- Shake for several seconds with gentle random movements.
REACTION READING
NEGATIVE:The mixture of liquids remains fluid without any change in consistency (pearl gray-purple color).
DOUBTFUL:Slight alteration of consistency, which disappears after a short time (pearl gray-violet color).
WEAKLY POSITIVE:Rapid increase in consistency, with little gelation. When making circular movements, the mixture tends to settle in the center, leaving the edges of the cup free. When the movements cease, the mixture spreads evenly over the entire floor of the bowl. Slightly violet colour.
STRONGLY POSITIVE:Strong increase in consistency with gelation that causes a convex surface, which even at rest does not occupy the entire floor of the cup. Intense violet colour. Reactions on colostral milks in the dry period or in traumatic mastitis are false positive and should not be treated as infectious mastitis.
