Variety with a white globose root of good size and excellent productivity, which is used as fodder.
The white globe turnip from Lugo is highly appreciated for its tender leaves and shoots (Grelos) with a peculiar flavor, slightly acidic and very pleasant.
GROWING TIPS
- Direct sowing at a shallow depth (0.5-1.5 cm)
- Density:4-6 Kg/ha.
- It requires very soft moist soils, rich in organic matter, of medium texture with good water retention, as long as they are well drained. (Soils with excessive limestone content cause fibrous and bad-tasting roots).
- The use of its leaves can be done approx. at 45 days, that of turnip greens at 90 days and turnips at 150 days from sowing.
